How do I become a presenter?
We appreciate your interest in participating in the JAM conference program. Session proposals submissions are accepted online through December 17, 2017. There is no limit to the amount of proposals you may submit for consideration. If you are submitting a lab-style session, please put Lab in the proposal title.
How do I know if my session has been accepted and I am a confirmed presenter?
All submissions are subject to an intense review cycle. A Track Coordinator or JAM Management will notify you in early March with the status of your session submission.
Do I have to register for the conference if I am a presenter?
All attendees, including presenters, must register online for JAM. Accepted submissions (seminar or lab sessions only) grant one complimentary JAM registration for a solo presenter; co-presenters may share a complimentary registration (limit 2 co-presenters, each receives a 50% discount on registration), providing all deadlines and conditions set by Jenzabar are met. Complimentary registrations are non-transferrable and are limited to one per presenter. If a presenter does not meet deadlines or fails to present the accepted session, the attendee’s registration fee will be adjusted to the full registration rate and payable upon receipt of our invoice.
How should I register if my presentation status has not been confirmed?
If you have submitted a Session Proposal, you also need to register online and you may select either the solo presenter (complimentary registration) or co-presenter (discounted registration) option. When the preliminary program is available (ETA mid-March), a Track Coordinator or JAM Management will notify those who submitted proposals with the status of the submission. If a proposal is not accepted, then the registration will be converted to the rate at the time of registration and the attendee will have 30 days to submit payment for that rate before the next rate takes effect, if applicable. For instance if the registration is entered on February 12 but the proposal is not accepted, then that registration will be converted to Early Registration rate and the registrant has 30 days to submit payment before the rate is increased to the regular registration rate. Requests for refunds must be made prior to the end of registration.
Will session presenters have their expenses paid for?
Other than the registration discount offered to presenters as described above, Jenzabar does not provide assistance with travel or other conference-related expenses.
Is the registration fee transferable?
No, registration fee discounts are not transferable to other attendees. Limit one discount per presenter.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are either 45-minutes or 60-minutes in length. Specific time slots will be assigned by JAM Management, but you may indicate a preferred length during the submission process. When preparing your presentation, be mindful to leave time for questions and answers.
Can I modify my proposal?
Submissions may be modified online until December 17, 2017. After that deadline, you may send requests for changes to your submission to JAM@jenzabar.com. Any special presentation requests must be submitted by March 16, 2018.
Do I need to submit my presentation before the conference?
All presenters are required to submit their presentations to Jenzabar by June 2. Send the file, saved as Session# Session Title (Example: 404 JICS Update), to JAM@jenzabar.com. Those presentations received by May 23 will be published on MyJenzabar beginning May 30 and will be entered into a drawing for a prize. Presentations will also be collected (via a flash drive) in the Universe Room during JAM. All presentations must be submitted to Jenzabar by the close of JAM on June 2 to ensure presenter consideration for future conferences. Only those presentations received by May 23 will be eligible for the presenter prize drawing. By submitting your presentation to Jenzabar, you agree to have it published on MyJenzabar, our secure client website.
How do I label my session presentation and handouts for submissions?
Presentations should be labeled with the session number and complete title of session for submission (Example: 404 JICS Update). The Session # assigned will be communicated once the schedule is complete.
Is there an official JAM PowerPoint template to use for my session?
The recommended PowerPoint template for JAM 2018 will be available here by April.
What equipment can I expect when I arrive in my session room?
The standard equipment setup for each JAM session room includes:
Can I bring my own laptop to do my presentation?
We strongly suggest bringing your presentation on a flash drive. Connecting your own laptop to the equipment at the conference is strongly discouraged, as our equipment is tested and set for the computer in the room. Attaching another computer to the existing system may require adjustments before and after your session, which could also affect the next presenter. If using a different computer is absolutely necessary, please make arrangements well in advance by e-mailing JAM@jenzabar.com. If you use your own laptop, we will not be able to support connecting it to the Internet or the JAM LAN.
Will Jenzabar arrange for phone lines, flipcharts, and/or whiteboards in the presentation rooms?
No, these items will not be provided.
Will there be someone to assist me in case of any problems?
Jenzabar IT staff will be available onsite at JAM to help with equipment issues during your session.
We look forward to seeing you at JAM 2018!
