Philander Smith College Migrates to Jenzabar One Cloud Services in Just Two Weeks

College Realizes Improved Security, Reliability, Mobile Access, Scalability, and Lower Costs with Cloud


BOSTON, MA—November 1, 2018 –  Jenzabar®, a leading technology innovator in higher education serving the new student, today announced that long-time customer Philander Smith College successfully migrated its Jenzabar One software suite from an on-premise system to Jenzabar Cloud Services in just two weeks.  Additionally, the college expanded its use of Jenzabar One’s products to include Jenzabar’s eLearning and Retention modules. These new capabilities will enable Philander Smith to give students and administrators access to its systems from any device anywhere and at any time as well as improved reliability, security, accountability at a lower cost.

Founded in 1877, Philander Smith College is a small, privately supported, historically black, four-year liberal arts institution in Little Rock, Arkansas.  A Jenzabar client for over fifteen years, Philander Smith determined it was more cost-effective to transition to the cloud.

With Jenzabar eLearning, students at Philander Smith now have access to online courses from any device including assignments, group discussions and grades. Faculty can deliver assignments, events, news, discussions, and resources by unit, easily score assignments and send tasks and events to student calendars.  Jenzabar Retention module provides Philander students a pathway to success and administration the tools to retain students, identify at-risk students and meet government compliance retention regulations.
