President & Co-Chief Executive Officer
Ling founded Jenzabar in 1998 with an audacious goal to better humanity through higher education. She designed and developed the first cloud-based student centric learning management system and assembled great talent to revolutionize the industry. Ling is a visionary and entrepreneur who has been instrumental in transforming Jenzabar from an early start-up to an innovative and thriving powerhouse in higher education technology.
In 2018, Ling led the Jenzabar executive team to formally launch Jenzabar One. From #1 to Jenzabar One, Jenzabar One is the industry’s first cloud-based enterprise solution fully reimagined to deliver an unprecedented student experience. Ready now, Jenzabar One gives colleges and universities the freedom to choose a solution that meets their needs today and tomorrow.
Created out of a passion for education and a vision for technology, Jenzabar believes all lives are worthy and capable of greatness, and are blessed with masterpieces within. Under Ling’s leadership, Jenzabar’s new mission is to explore, build, and invest in innovative and disruptive technologies and services to empower and transform higher education for all to achieve greatness—personally, at home, at work, and in the world.
In this season, her passion and focus are to see Jenzabar to become the transforming leader in global education to bring this divine love through the Masterpiece Pathway technology and services to billions of people, to help them equipped with truth, knowledge, and skills, so they can leap out of poverty and injustice into their glorious lives!
Prior to Jenzabar, Ling worked at Bain & Company and Morgan Stanley. She had bi-partisan internships in the offices of late senators Kennedy and Wallop, and had a work-study at the United Nations. During these years, she honed her all-around skills in business management, analytics, public policy, and global leadership. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master of Liberal Arts in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School on International Relations at Princeton University, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Beijing University.
Ling has received two Nobel Peace Prize nominations for her leadership in the 1989 Tiananmen Square movement that inspired the fall of the Berlin Wall and the domino collapse of communist regimes around the world. Her memoir, A Heart for Freedom, chronicles her remarkable journey through those events.
In 1990, ‘Glamour’ named Ling among its Women of the Year.
On Dec 4th 2009, Ling had a powerful experience of encountering God through Jesus as the savior and Christ.
In 2010, her profound spiritual transformation led her to found All Girls Allowed—in Jesus’ name simply love her ministry. All Girls Allowed is a Christian charitable organization committed to restoring life, value, and dignity to girls and mothers by ending China’s one-child policy and forced abortions. In Fall 2012, the brutal forced abortions were ended and, by 2015, God answered her team’s prayers and the one-child policy ended as well. Today, one million legal second children are being born each year in China and 13 million extra quota children are given opportunity to become legal citizens.
In 2012, Ling was led to break silence and spoke to 13,000 mission leaders about the urgent need to end sexual assaults—a taboo subject then. In 2017, the powerful “#MeToo” movement was born and became a water shed moment of ending decades long hidden sexual assaults.
Being an avid human rights champion and steadfast proponent of social entrepreneurship, Ling came to understand the challenging callings of her life and has risen to finish all aspects of these work. During her time serving at All Girls Allowed, she was instilled with the belief that all people are children of God. She believes the world will become a better place when we experience the true love from God, so we can truly love ourselves, and love others as ourselves.
Today, Ling is based in Boston, Massachusetts and gives thanks each day for her wonderful husband, supporter, and partner Bob Maginn and her three amazing children. She lives in a wonderful community with many loving friends. She is blessed with a committed and talented company, ministry associates, industry colleagues, clients, and good health to continue to work and serve.
Ling was once told: others pray for life, Ling, your life is a prayer. She says, “May my life be a prayer and an answered prayer. May it bring glory to my Creator who makes us His children and His masterpieces”!
