Upgrading the ERP
Nationally recognized for both quality and value, Berry College is an independent, co-educational college of approximately 2,000 students. The college was founded in 1902 and is located in Rome, Georgia. A Jenzabar® enterprise resource planning (ERP) system client for over 25 years, Berry chose to upgrade to the latest version of Jenzabar EX for an even more personalized and collaborative working environment.
Given the scope of the upgrade project, the College’s leadership recognized the importance of cultivating community support for the upgrade. Berry’s IT team reached out to departments across the institution to plan the upgrade and help each office understand how Jenzabar EX’s functionalities would benefit them individually. The College promoted the MyWorkspace feature in particular, recognizing that staff would appreciate the ability to personalize their virtual desktop with the new software.
“Upgrading the Jenzabar version was a major change in how the user interacted with the ERP software. We were all eager in the IT department to start using the new features, but we didn’t want our users to be lost or frustrated,” said Drew Allison, Director of Enterprise systems at Berry. “Upon upgrade, we decided to host a ‘MyWorkspace Launch Party’ to get departments excited about the enhancements. At the party, we had as many end users as possible log in and use the software. Giving them a preview of the software created a buzz across campus and helped each office experience what their day-to-day operations would entail after the upgrade.” Continue reading…
