Now in its second year, the annual University Business Readers’ Choice Top Products award recognizes the most innovative products in higher education. This prestigious list informs university leaders and administrators about the products their colleagues around the country are using to help their schools excel.
“The Jenzabar Advising Module allows the advisor and student to focus on the most important parts of the advising relationship, and let the computer do what it does best. Often, advisors and students meet to schedule courses or walk through program sheets, and then don’t have time to focus on the relational aspects of academic advising,” said David Streicher, Data, Information, and Reporting Manager at University of Saint Francis. “With the Module, advisors and students have more time to discuss how the student is doing and connect the student to the right resources.”
The UB Top Product winners were selected by the editors of University Business from hundreds of nominations submitted by readers. Winners were selected based on both the quantity of nominations and the quality of the nominees’ testimony of the product. “The fact that we saw an increased response in the second year of this recognition program is a testament to the interest that higher ed leaders have in products for improving educational outcomes and operational efficiencies,” says JD Solomon, editorial director of University Business. “All of the honorees in our Top Products program should be very proud of their achievement.”
“Jenzabar comes up with interesting ideas and improvements based on their previous experiences,” said Streicher. “They have been “in the trenches” like the university employees that are currently using the software, so they can relate to the challenges we face.”
Another Jenzabar EX Advising user, Virginia Mayne, Assistant Registrar at Gordon College, uses the Advising Worksheet to update the students’ completed or in progress requirements. “The Module provides the advisor and student with an up-to-date picture of the student’s progress,” said Mayne. “Jenzabar listens, responds, and offers options and workarounds to fit my way of doing things.”
Last year, Jenzabar Recruitment was selected as a University Business 2012 Readers’ Choice Top Product. Jenzabar continues to make major investments in new product and service offerings that enhance institutions’ ability to efficiently respond to higher education needs.
